What is Qmani Business SMS?

Qmani's messaging traffic is provided by direct connection to Australian mobile carriers. This is required to support the Business SMS quality, reliability, capacity, throughput, security of delivery and receipt of mobile messages.

Qmani's mission to provide mobile messaging and data solutions that are fit for enterprise and business was born out of frustration with a significant sector of the industry providing low quality grey-market mobile messaging that is branded in the marketplace as "OK for business". These promises of low-quality and low-priced messaging are illustrious and not delivered as shown in the following.

The Australian mobile data industry is often plagued by the confusion of why there is a rip-off when a higher charge is quoted when compared to claims of 3, 5, 7, 10 or 13 cents SMS. These promises of low-quality and low-priced messaging are illustrious and not delivered. Amongst others, here are the sell-lines of such suppliers as related by clients:

  • "Low cost SMS is same as that provided by Australian carriers who charge like a wounded bull!"
  • "You will save heaps on your SMS"
  • "don't worry, if you are not sure if it is delivered, just send twice or more times and it is still cheaper than what you buy in Australia"

What is often serious are the claims of suppliers that there are using Australian based SMS when they engage in a bait-and-switch or other tactics. Eventually the clients will find out through their poor messaging and support experience.

These low-priced, grey market mobile messaging services often originate from India, South Africa, Malaysia and Eastern Europe. The cheap price is commonly used as the main selling factor of mobile messaging. By itself, these messaging services comes packaged with intrinsic issues of congested delivery resulting in delays of messages sent, not delivered to 100% of Australian mobiles and doubtful practices by suppliers, agents or brokers of their messages in obtaining sources of incremental revenue from the messaging service.

Qmani envisages that it is a matter of time until such un-intended non-compliance of the Privacy Act by corporations will be properly addressed by the Australian regulators.
